Writing

I am an art critic whose writing has appeared regularly in the Los Angeles Times. In 2011-12 I reviewed all 69 official “Pacific Standard Time” exhibitions in the series “PST: A to Z.” I have also written for Artforum, X-TRA Contemporary Art Quarterly, ARTNews and other publications. I serve as a mentor in the International Art Critics Association Art Writing Workshop, am a recipient of an Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers’ Grant and am a coauthor of the award-winning book, Fresh Talk/Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art.

I studied art at the University of California, Berkeley, received my MFA from Rutgers University and my MLIS from San Jose State University. I live in Los Angeles.
