I love ideas. Whether as a writer or designer, I’m always looking
for the best way to communicate them.
I write reviews and feature articles on visual art, as well as design,
architecture, food, and film. I'm a 2007 recipient of a Creative
Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant and a co-author
of Fresh
Talk, Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art
(University of California Press, 2003). My work has also appeared
in The Los Angeles Times, Artforum.com, Art on Paper,
ARTnews, Art Ltd., Wired.com, the SF
Weekly, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, the Silicon
Valley Metro, The Massachusetts Review, CMYK Magazine,
PopMatters.com, and Nikkei Heritage.
With 11 years of interactive design experience, including 4 years
of Web design in fast-paced New York City agencies, I have skills,
discipline and big client experience.
I’m an expert in creative concept development, interface design,
and interactive branding, and I have the communication and project
management skills to make sure that a project gets done on strategy,
on time and on budget.
From my background as a visual artist, I take a conceptual approach
to design. I know how to define, develop, and extend a core message.
I don’t have a rigid style, but am always looking for the “big idea”
which guides and determines the overall design.
